The Director of Digital Production is responsible to oversee production of all digital projects from inception to completion within the Agency. He or she leads the internal team of Digital Producers, and Developers, and schedules and scopes digital projects based on functions, capacity, and budgets. The Director Digital Production has excellent technical knowledge and can plan all phases of digitally based projects from kick-off through delivery. He or she organizes, manages and communicates with team members to deliver the work to complete a digital based project within defined scope, quality, timeframe and budget.
As the Director of Digital Production you must be able to manage large multi-faceted projects/accounts and multiple projects at the same time.
A successful Director of Digital Production will be pro-active, independent, and be confident in leading teams. He or she is a consensus builder, a problem solver, and will work with colleagues throughout the agency to bring creative ideas and required technology to fruition in all digital executions. Core functional responsibilities include:
Directly manages Digital Producers, including day to day flow of work through the team, and recruiting, hiring, managing, development & growth
Digital resource planning, including forecasting, and identifying new skills and resources needed
Oversees Developers workflow, task management, and project direction
Manager of Digital Producers, including: hiring, managing, development & growth
Partners with Account Management and New Business on digital strategy for clients as needed
Works with SVP Operations on project scopes and initial project plans as needed to secure project approval
Overall responsibility for the flow and efficiency of work across the digital team, from SOW development, planning, creative, development, testing, launch, reporting and maintenance
Reporting to Sr Management on overall resource planning/utilization
Weekly, quarterly and yearly reporting on various aspects of digital projects, including: profitability, forecasting, types of projects, who is working on what, etc.
Build and sustain relationships at all levels and with all groups in the agency in order to assist with adjusting deliverables as needed with clients.
Alert team if a project strays out of scope or the originally set parameter
Lead contingency planning, problem resolution, and recommend solutions to maintain schedules, budgets, and quality deliverables
Manage freelance hours and cost for content development and external production as needed
Develop, manage and enforce a rigorous approvals process internally through production phases of each project
Oversee testing process and quality standards on all projects
Keep Department Director aware of progress on each project and the development/deployment of the process – raising concerns as quickly as possible
Work with Project Management to ensure Advantage database is up to date detailed records of the digital project daily to dos
Implements Agency workflow process and quality assurance procedures to ensure successful execution as measured by agency goals and client satisfaction
Provide insight on process improvements or resources/tools opportunities
Ensure Development files and specs are organized and complete to ensure accurate archive of project and easily located as needed
